About Thomas Watson
We are the oldest established auctioneers in our region holding auctions in Northumberland Street, Darlington, since 1840.
We hold approximately twenty four sales each year which include sections for Antique Furniture, Works of Art, Clocks and Instruments, Ceramics and Glass, Pictures, Silver and Jewellery, Metalwares and Collectables.
Peter Robinson took his first auction here at The Gallery Saleroom back in 1974. With thousands of Lots under his hammer and 35 years of experience, with a solid reputation, he is highly knowledgeable in a variety of fields.
Peter Cartwright came to Thomas Watson's in 1984, and has enjoyed working in all departments on his way to the auctioneer's rostrum giving him a vast knowledge of all areas of the business.
David Strain joined our team in 2004 bringing with him his wealth of knowledge and experience as a period furniture valuer and auctioneer. Based in Northumberland, David is well placed to advise clients throughout the North East.
