We are back at Richmond’s Station due to popular demand!

Posted on 25th April 2016

We had so many people dropping in to see us at our valuation day at The Station in Richmond earlier this year that we’ve decided to run another event on Friday 6th May from 10am until 3pm.

As before, we will have a stand on the old platform area and would be delighted to see you. Just bring along anything that you’d like us to take a look at and we will try and tell you as much as we can about it, as well as its current price tag. No appointments are necessary.

We love these events because not only do we get to see a huge variety of interesting objects but we also get to meet their owners. One of the great joys about antiques is that each object has its own story. Sometimes people bring things that have been passed down through their family or perhaps that they have collected on their travels. You never know what will turn up and people are often surprised by what things are worth.

All valuations are free with no obligation but if you did want to sell an item then we can make arrangements for it to be included in the next relevant sale. Estimates given on the day will be used as a guide price at auction but, remember, you can also specify a reserve so if a piece doesn’t make its desired price then it doesn’t get sold – making it totally risk-free. It’s actually a great incentive to have a bit of a Spring de-clutter and make some money at the same time.

For those of you that don’t know The Station, it’s a fabulous venue and is usually buzzing – especially on a Friday. Why not combine your visit with a look round the free exhibitions, pop into the café or ice-cream parlour for some refreshments or do a bit of gourmet shopping in the artisan food outlets. If the weather is good then there is also a lovely river walk down to Easby Abbey. Go on make a day of it!
