Selling At Auction

In line with Government recommendations, face coverings must be worn when entering the saleroom.

We look forward to welcoming you to our salerooom, the safety and well-being of our clients and staff remain our primary focus and we will follow government guidelines to ensure social distancing and all other recommendations are adhered to.  We will be limiting the number of clients in the saleroom at any one time, appropriate PPE is available to our staff and we will conduct regular cleaning of public areas.  Hand sanitisers will be available throughout the saleroom but please note, clients will need to be responsible for providing their own PPE if required.

1) When considering the sale of your items we can give guidance and an initial appraisal by email, please send images and details to                      (We aim to respond within 24 hours but may take longer during busy periods)

2) YOU MUST BOOK A TIME-SLOT TO DELIVER YOUR ITEMS TO THE SALEROOM,           please telephone 01325 462559 during office hours to arrange this. (Please have your full correct contact details to hand, proceed payments are made via cheque or bank transfer only, if you request bank transfer we will also need your bank account number and sort code)

3) Lots should have a value of £40 or more, or small collections of three of four items to make up a lot of similar value.

When conducting home visits/consignment collection etc all our staff and third party couriers undertake to work safely and securely in your home.


Our selling process is subject to our charges, which are outlined below.

Commission - 15% subject to a minimum charge of £7 per lot.

Internet and Photography Lot Fee: £3 per lot whether sold or unsold.

Withdrawal: £10 per lot.

Carriage: The charge for collection is £50 plus VAT per hour, which includes travel to and from the pick-up address, packing, unpacking, loading and unloading.

All charges are subject to VAT

Our Valuers Peter Robinson & Peter Cartwright, who have many years experience between them and have a wealth of knowledge covering a wide spectrum are here by appointment to provide appraisals.

Home visits can also be arranged via appointment.

They are also available to provide written valuations for Inheritance Tax, Insurance and Family Division.

Reserve Price

An agreement can be made to set a reserve price on your items. The minimum reserve is subject to auctioneer's 10% discretion.

Please note that special terms can be arranged for items of high value or large consignments. 


Cheques or bank transfers are forwarded within two weeks of the sale, if the auctioneers have received the amount due from the purchaser.


Unsold Lots

Please collect unsold lots within 10 working days. Charges of £1 per lot per day +VAT will apply thereafter.
